Carolyn Standish, SEP, NMP

For as long as I can remember, I have been fascinated with the human story. Why we struggle and suffer, be it emotional or physical. Over twenty-five years ago I started practicing and teaching yoga. Several years ago I began to concentrate my focus of practice, both personally and professionally, exclusively using Neuro-Affective Relational Model (NARM) and Somatic Experiencing (SE).  My clients have given me a wonderful opportunity and privilege to be a part of the most intimate details of their lives. These experiences, as well as my own dedication to my health and wellbeing, have finely developed my ability to work with the various levels of trauma and personal development you may have. My training: Comprehensive, extensive study in yoga, psychotherapy, transformational therapeutic work. I am a certified NARM Practitioner and a certified Somatic Experiencing Practitioner. I am also an approved Session Provider for both. The learning never ends and my training continues to date. I love the work I do.

Ellen Byrne, CMT, SEP

I have had a private practice in therapeutic bodywork since 1995, grounded and informed by Somatic Experiencing since 2004.  I completed the NARM training in January 2016 and the Chicago Training will be my second round of assisting.  My practice is based on a combination of grounded presence, supportive touch and inquiry.  NARM has provided the “missing link” for me in supporting my clients to tap into their innate resilience, ability to self regulate and move into the world with agency and passion.  I am Buddhist in my personal spiritual orientation, and open to whatever your outlook may be.  I practice yoga and in my spare time, bicycle around the world with my husband.  I’m thrilled to be here to support your learning experience in NARM.

Liv Søchting

My name is Liv Søchting, and I am from Denmark. I currently live in Copenhagen, but I grew up in a smaller town near the border to Germany. As a young adult, I left Denmark to live in the US, England and finally settling in New Zealand with my New Zealand partner. I started university here and achieved a BA/BCom conjoint degree from the University of Auckland, with psychology/ linguistics and management as my majors. Whilst there I got my first real experience of counselling when volunteering at a helpline and was trained in Client-Centered counselling. This changed the focus of my university studies and when we moved to Denmark, I made psychology my field and I achieved a MA in psychology from the University of Copenhagen. I have authorization from Psykolognævnet (which means that I am a qualified psychologist).  Since then I have mainly worked in private practice with both individuals, couples, and families; with adults, adolescents and children. I have trained in psychodynamic and cognitive therapy; hypnotherapy and emdr, as well as NARM. I am part of the first NARM training in Denmark and the first Masters’ training in the US.
