Marcia Black, PhD
Marcia is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist, NARM Senior Training Assistant, and NARM Faculty Committee member. Marcia has been in private practice for over 35 years in SF and the East Bay, specializing in treating complex and developmental trauma and other psychological conditions, including depression and loss, anxiety, relationship issues, and addiction. Psychodynamically trained, with a background in Attachment, Relational and Intersubjective approaches, Marcia finds the NARM model to offer a valuable and inspiring contribution to understanding and approaching the psychotherapy process. Marcia is also a Somatic Experiencing (SE) Practitioner, with experience as Lead Assistant in international trainings. Marcia has a particular commitment to early intervention/prevention, and has found the developmental approach of NARM specifically useful in her work with clients seeking help with issues of parenting children of all ages, and with the personal challenges that arise for them with those parenting challenges.
