Become a NARM Post-Masters Fellow
The NARM Post-Masters Fellow Certificate program will enhance your skills and deepen your understanding of NARM. The program includes direct learning and mentorship opportunities with Dr. Laurence Heller and other NARM Teachers, in individual and small group settings, as well as peer and self-directed learning.
The program is an international community space where practitioners at the forefront of NARM come together to learn, practice, and grow. Through collaborative engagement with Dr. Heller, other NARM Teachers, and peers, participants have the opportunity to expand their knowledge and refine their clinical skills in a supportive environment. This program is a prerequisite for anyone who is interested in becoming a NARM mentor or NARM Teacher, and allows individuals to explore various mentorship roles throughout the program. Becoming a NARM mentor is a requirement for joining the NARM Teacher track.
The NARM Post-Masters Fellow Certificate Program includes a communal space which is facilitated by the program portal. Access to the portal includes communication channels to program participants, and important resources needed for the completion of the program, which include peer group forms, registration for learning requirements, as well as access to exclusive content. The Portal will not expire and will remain a connection to the community of those pursuing their NARM Fellow Certificate and those who complete it, and decide to remain a part of the ongoing group learning.
Program Entry Requirements: NARM Therapist/Practitioner Certificate must be completed before joining the NARM Fellow Certificate program. Additionally, individuals should have completed the NARM Master Therapist Training and have participated in or be registered for at least one NARM Post-Masters Training weekend.

NARM Post-Masters
Fellow Designation
Upon completing your Certificate Requirements you will hold the designation of NARM Post-Masters Fellow, and will be able to use that in your credentials and in our directory.
Potential for Furthering NARM within Your Community and Beyond!
Can lead to further opportunities to become a more active part of the NARM training organizations, such as becoming a NARM mentor, presenting NARM, joining the NARM Teacher track, and more.
How to earn the NARM Post-Masters Fellow Certificate
Complete at least six (6) Post-Masters Training weekends. Training weekends include group activity which will not be recorded, and as such, live participation during the training is highly encouraged, but is not required. NARM Post-Masters themes vary, and there are no specific theme required for the completion of the Certificate. We encourage Post-Masters Fellow candidates to participate in the annual training subscription, which includes all Post-Masters weekends in a given year, however they may choose to purchase weekends separately. *Training weekends completed within 18 months of joining the Post-Masters Fellow program can be used towards meeting this requirement, however, it is required that a minimum of two (2) Post-Masters Training Weekends must be completed after enrollment into the program.
Complete at least four (4) Post-Masters Group Consults with Dr. Heller, or individual consults with NARM Teachers. The Group Consults will be provided as recordings for those who cannot attend live, however in-person participation is strongly encouraged. *Please note that at least two consults must be with Dr. Heller.
Complete at least six (6) peer practice groups with 4-5 participants from the NARM Post-Masters training. You must serve in each Therapist, Client and Observer roles at least twice. Information on how to connect to individuals in the program and how to structure your group is included in your NARM Post-Masters Fellow Portal. *Up to two Peer Groups can be substituted by Post-Masters Active Coaching.
Complete at least four (4) Peer Case Consults with 4-5 participants from the NARM Post-Masters training. Information on how to connect to individuals in the program and how to structure your case consult is included in your NARM Post-Masters Fellow Portal.
Dr. Heller will lead Learning Groups that will focus on debriefing the peer practice groups and peer case consult experience. These groups will take place 3-4 times per year and will cover summarized learnings, themes and questions that still remain from their peer groups. The group includes a pre-recorded video response to questions posed in peer-group reports, conducted by Stephan Niederwieser. To receive the NARM Post-Masters Fellow Certificate, you must attend or review a minimum of two (2) of these groups, however more is encouraged. The groups are available only to NARM Post-Masters Fellow participants.
A 30 minute pre-recorded presentation on a NARM topic or theme, which would consist of teaching, and may include a PowerPoint presentation, or other media. The presentation will be individually presented to and debriefed with Dr. Heller or other NARM Teachers.
Participants will submit one 55 minute NARM demonstration in which they serve in the practitioner role. The session will be shown and debriefed with Dr. Heller or other NARM Teachers.

Participants may also choose to purchase weekends individually at $950 per weekend.

The 4 peer consults and 6 peer practice groups are self-organized and self-reported using the tools available in the NARM Post-Masters Fellow Portal.
*Up to two (2) Peer Practice Groups may be substituted with Post-Masters Active Coaching (additional cost applies).
Advanced Learning Groups with Dr. Heller
Two Learning Groups at $120 USD each
The Advanced Learning Groups with Dr. Heller are intended to debrief peer group experience during a two-hour, Fellow-only group. The group includes a pre-recorded video response to questions posed in peer-group reports, conducted by Stephan Niederwieser.

Dr. Laurence Heller
Creator of the NeuroAffective Relational Model (NARM)
Dr. Laurence Heller is the creator of the NeuroAffective Relational Model (NARM), founder of the NARM Training Institute, international trainer, and co-author of Healing Developmental Trauma: How Early Trauma Affects Self-Regulation, Self-Image and the Capacity for Relationship, now published in fifteen different languages. Dr. Heller has a PhD in clinical psychology and has conducted NARM trainings and case consultations for thousands of therapists throughout the United States and Europe.
Stephan Konrad Niederwieser
NARM Teacher
Stephan has been working as a psychotherapist for over three decades. His work is guided by a quiet fascination with how human beings become who they believe to be—and how they can, even after early adversity, return to their natural sense of trust, dignity, and authentic self-expression.
His therapeutic training began with Hakomi in the late 1980s, followed by extensive advanced training in trauma-oriented modalities, including Somatic Experiencing and, eventually, the NeuroAffective Relational Model (NARM), which today forms the core of his clinical work. As a member of the NARM faculty, he teaches and supervises therapists in many countries all over the world.
Together with NARM founder Dr. Laurence Heller, he has recently completed a book on chronic shame and guilt: Healing Shame and Guilt: The Developmental Roots of Chronic Shame and Guilt—and How the NeuroAffective Relational Model (NARM) Can Help You Heal and Reconnect, which will be published early in 2026.
Beyond his therapeutic work, Stephan loves to travel. His curiosity about people extends far beyond the therapy room and is reflected in his passion for exploring how human beings live and relate across cultures in both the West and the East. Two places he holds especially close to his heart are the Himalayan mountains and the vast icy landscapes of Greenland—connecting him to humility, resilience, and the quiet power of nature. He is married and lives with his partner in Berlin.
Tobias Konermann
NARM Teacher
Tobias Konermann is a NARM Teacher whose work is grounded in an ongoing exploration of human development, relationship, and consciousness. Drawing from humanistic psychology and Eastern wisdom traditions, he brings a relational and transpersonal perspective to his teaching and clinical work.
His approach is informed by both personal and professional inquiry into the complexities of human experience, including how individuals can encounter care and support early in life while still carrying experiences of isolation and suffering. He is particularly attentive to the subtle and often unspoken dynamics that shape our inner and relational worlds.
At the core of Tobias’s work is a deep commitment to the primacy of relationship and the cultivation of authentic, caring relational spaces—both in therapeutic settings and in the broader interconnectedness of life.
- The NARM Post-Masters Fellow Certificate Program fees are non-refundable, unless we find that you have not met the eligibility requirements. If you’re found to be ineligible for the program, your fee will be refunded in full and you will not gain access to the portal. *The NARM Training Institute will not be responsible for any transaction fees that result from ineligible applications.
- For participants that decide to withdraw before they have completed their two payments, their upcoming payments will be canceled and they will lose access to the portal.
- After completing the NARM Post-Masters Certificate, individuals will be invited to remain a part of the Portal at no cost, provided they meet the minimum requirement of completing at least two Post-Masters Training Weekends every year.
