NARM Therapist Training

NARM Therapist Training is a live, in-person and/or virtual training program designed for licensed mental health professionals, current mental health graduate students, and active clinical interns/trainees. Others who are legally permitted to practice psychotherapy (e.g., clergy or psychiatric nurses) may also apply. This clinical training is designed to train mental health professionals in addressing the long-term impacts of ACEs and C-PTSD, and support integration of NARM therapy into their ongoing clinical practice. Graduates of the Therapist Training can apply to become NARM Therapists and be listed on the NARM Practitioner Directory, as well as continue on to the NARM Master Therapist Training.

The NARM Therapist Training is a larger investment financially and in terms of time-commitment than the psychoeducational NARM-Informed Professional Training (formerly NARM Basics Training).  The Therapist training is designed to facilitate clinical implementation of NARM, and includes supervised clinical skill practice. While both trainings include the foundations of NARM, the NARM-Informed Professional Training uses experiential learning to enhance understanding of the model vs. clinical applications. Some mental health professionals decide to start with learning about the model in the NARM-Informed Professional Training and move on to Therapist Training. Others choose to begin with the Therapist Training.

The NARM Training Institute does not currently offer NARM Therapist Training, or the NARM Master Therapist Training. There are multiple organizations offering these trainings around the world. All organizations that have been approved for offering NARM Therapist Training can be located using the links below.
