Transforming Trauma Episode 092: Reflecting on a Growing Training Institute with NARM Faculty Brad Kammer, Stefanie Klein, and Marcia Black
A podcast brought to you by the NARM® Training Institute
In this episode of Transforming Trauma, our host Emily is kicking off 2023 with NARM Faculty, Brad Kammer, Stefanie Klein, and Marcia Black, as they explore the challenges, learnings, successes and growth over this past year. Part of building an intentional organization committed to healing complex trauma is taking the time for some self-reflection, self-awareness, and relational sharing about learning and challenges. It is also important to pause and celebrate the incredible successes that have happened in 2022 in the growing global NARM Community.
The NARM Training Institute's mission is to build a trauma-informed training institute that offers professional community in support of greater connection and healing by bringing humanity to the transformation of complex trauma. Community, mentorship, and heartfulness are just some of the values that have gotten the Institute to where it is today, and a lot of that has to do with the Faculty team modeling the mission and values.
As Brad, Stefanie, Marcia look back on 2022, there’s an overwhelming sense of gratitude and appreciation for the whole NARM community; from the heartful way participants are showing up in the trainings, to the enthusiastic support for the NARM Book release, to all the different learning events and opportunities for being together.
While 2022 was a year full of highlights, it’s important to acknowledge the challenges and complexity of a growing professional organization. For example, they reflect on the dynamics of being a mentorship-based professional community with strong values and the unique challenges to maintaining integrity and cohesion. They attempt to “walk the talk” by sharing transparently, honestly and reflecting on the their own personal challenges, and successes, during this past year. They all agree that despite the challenges along the way, they are immensely grateful for this work, this community, and all the relationships they have built through NARM, that support them in their clinical work and teaching.
We are grateful to this incredible team of Faculty at the NARM Training Institute for their dedication to the growth and development of the NARM Community, and the heartfulness and integrity they are bringing to the trauma-informed movement. We invite you to listen to the full episode to learn more about the happenings at the NARM Training Institute.
