NARM Active Coaching Groups

with Dr. Laurence Heller & Stephan Konrad Niederwieser

The intention of Active Coaching Groups is to create an ongoing, experiential learning opportunity for the NARM community. As part of these groups, a NARM Teacher will lead active coaching practice with volunteer “clients” and “therapists,” followed by group debriefs of the active coaching. Whether you have the opportunity to be in the role of therapist, client, or observer, as you know from the trainings, active coaching is a valuable way to continue integrating the NARM approach into your practice.

To be eligible for Active Coaching Groups, you must have completed the NARM Master Therapist/Practitioner training.

We are excited for you to join us for ongoing exploration and continued refinement of the NARM model, and ongoing connection as a NARM community.

If you have any questions, please reach out to us at: [email protected].

If you are interested in additional consultation opportunities, please visit our Post-Masters Group Consult page to explore upcoming Group Consults.

  • NARM Faculty will facilitate 2 active coaching practice groups over the course of the event.
  • NARM Faculty will ask for 2 volunteers to be therapists and 2 volunteers to be clients per group.
  • If there are more than 4 volunteers, NARM Faculty will select the therapists and clients from the volunteers.
  • By signing up for these groups, please be aware that you may not be able to participate as therapist or client, and may be an observer during this group.
  • We hope that all observers will be active participants in the learning process, and all observers will be invited to participate in debriefs as well as sharing comments and questions throughout the group.
  • We ask that each participant be muted during the group unless you are speaking to the facilitator or participating in the group.
  • During discussion time, we encourage you to leave your video on as it helps support social engagement.
  • During active coaching practice, we ask that only the therapist, client and facilitator have the cameras on.
  • You may use the raise hand feature if you’d like to ask a question, or you may be directed to engage in other ways by the facilitator.
  • The facilitator will do their best to engage with all the questions, but please know that we cannot guarantee there will be time to address everyone’s comments and questions.
  • Please note that there are no recordings available for active coachings. You must attend live to participate.

If you are working towards a NARM professional certificate, these Active Coaching Groups may be applied towards your certificate requirements. Please check with the organization which manages your certificate requirements to inquire whether this fulfills your certificate requirements.
